Alber + King
Combo for Kaido OP17-058 · tested in 3,300 games per version
How it works
At 10 DON!!, Alber can trash himself to play King (cost 6) from hand for free. That turns a 10-DON turn into King plus 10 DON of other plays. King then adds DON!! back, which suits a Kaido Leader that spends DON with its DON!! −1 ability. On its own Alber is just a 5000 body.
Does it win more games?
Together they win 32.1%, more than either card alone (13.4% and 25.3%) and well above neither (10.9%).
| Version of the deck | Win rate |
|---|---|
| Both cards | 32.1% |
| Only Alber | 13.4% |
| Only King | 25.3% |
| Neither | 10.9% |
The same Kaido deck in four versions (4 copies of each named card, or none), each played 3,300 times against the 8 most-played decks on the same shuffles. Synergy (how much more the pair adds than the two cards separately): +4.3 points, about ±1.5 at this many games.
The cards
[Activate: Main] You may trash this Character: If your Leader has the {Animal Kingdom Pirates} type and you have 10 DON!! cards on your field, play up to 1 [King] with a cost of 7 or less from your hand.
If this Character would be K.O.'d, you may return 1 DON!! card from your field to your DON!! deck instead.
[Activate: Main] [Once Per Turn] If your Leader has the {Animal Kingdom Pirates} type and you have no other [King] Characters, add up to 1 DON!! card from your DON!! deck and set it as active, and add up to 1 additional DON!! card and rest it.
